Route lifespans cluster at the two extremes. The largest group was active in more than twenty years and the next largest in a single year, counting years whether or not they run in a row.

Conditions and method
A route counts as persistent when it was active in 21 or more calendar years, in a row or not. A route that switches on and off still counts.
