South Korea: passengers counted at airports (arrivals plus departures), so a domestic trip counts twice
airtraffickonomics.com

Quarter by quarter, passengers at Korean airports plotted against economic output. The dots climb together until the pandemic and drop far below in it; nothing is fitted, and a domestic trip is counted at both ends.

What this shows: The chart covers 2005 Q1 to 2025 Q4 and its vertical axis shows log(airport passengers, arrivals plus departures).

Conditions and method

The count is arrivals plus departures at Korean airports, so a domestic trip is counted twice and an international trip once. From 2005 to 2019 the international share of the count rose, so the growth in the title is lower than it would be on a count of journeys.
