Freight per passenger runs highest at China Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Korean Air and lowest at the big US airlines. Each airline's own freighters are counted, so this does not measure what passenger holds carry.
What this shows: The chart plots Freight tons per passenger.
Conditions and method
Freight per passenger divides all the freight an airline flew by its passengers, on its passenger aircraft and on its freighters alike. Of the 15 airlines plotted, 6 flew more than half of their freight tons on aircraft with no seats and 5 flew less than 1%; the highest is China Airlines at 94%. The chart is therefore not a measure of what passenger-aircraft holds carry.
